Since young I have always written something but has ended up in a drawer. As also inherited his father's love of painting (which he says was a great painter). Only after leaving the forced retirement life business, has begun to cultivate a love of painting through landscapes, still lifes and portraits especially.
With respect to the literature, several blogs and collaborations in some newspaper have been releasing of shyness until he decides to face the possibility of writing a novel. Today has written material for the publication of other novels, as well as many articles, short stories and poetry, which also have approached timidly, still the favorite sonnet poetic expression.
By completing your profile I can say that confession is Catholic, so in a highly secular world is a real merit to confess. Politically always considered myself a moderate, but that lie at the heart of it seems to be no compromise. Points in their confessions that lately I'm becoming an anarchist. The truth is that in these times of uncertainty is understandable to be a little skeptical about the society around us.
But let our author and talk about his work, a debut that will surely cause a great impression on future readers like me came to me when I read it.
past three decades has flourished here in the international literary scene, and particularly in English, the historical novel. The mixture between reality and fiction has been in recent times ingredient of many works that have filled the windows and shelves of our bookstores. And is that the past is presented to men and women of our time as an adventure and a process chain of actions that have shaped today's world. Perhaps the lack of a current goal as a nation take us to recreate in the past, in which we not only our identity but, perhaps, responding to our concerns.
is why perhaps our author has sought in past events in our history the answer to the nostalgia of those who lived through the countryside and the society he portrays in his book. The war in Africa, better known as the Moroccan, has remained unknown in our history. Perhaps because he never had the satisfaction of the people he saw as their children, who could not escape with money from the military duty, died from an arid land, unknown and almost certainly by shady interests of the English aristocracy. This war, triggered the downfall of governments, was seen by English foot as a drain of young people who died without knowing the real reason for the war. And no one, saw the bleeding of life, he created an image of "moro" still lingers in our collective subconscious. Moor
This image is well defined with reference to The author of a description published in the Herald of Melilla on the Rif (p. 202). READ.
And this novel is also a discovery of the Rif world of the early years of last century, its people, their customs and their way of understanding life. The author has sought at all times save the image of the Moor petty and treacherous in his work by introducing the figure of Laarbi Riff, who will share the spotlight with our character.
But who is this character that gives title to the work? The Moor Joaquin is a historical figure who actually lived many of the events that the author narrates the novel. His life in the prison of Al Hoceima, Rif then among the Kabyle, Speaking at the events of the sinking of the General Concha, and the pardon granted by King Alfonso XIII, form the historical process that leads to the second part of the novel where the historical context and the facts are closer to reality. I will not reveal more of the plot of the novel as much of the credit goes to the discovery that the reader page after page to perform. The strength of direct language, almost cinematic, engage the reader, eager at all times to continue to discover what it hides the next page.
I said that our character is a real character that going to let me reveal some of their secrets that the author has not wanted to reveal in his . And is that fictional account on the historical novel as an essential part of the same literary development. Is false, as a means of pointing time, he was convicted for killing his girlfriend. His story is different and goes back to the late nineteenth century.
On June 15, 1892, the newspaper El Liberal, was the news of the murder happened the night of 7 to 8 at St. Perpetua de Moncada (Barcelona) of the spouses Rafael Llonch, seventies, and his wife, Josefa Borrás sixty-four. Both were killed with an ax and had arrested a man named "Quim Requilador, Aragon which was soon to marry. The motive apparently was robbery to be the house revolt and broken dresser drawers.
This little blurb was just the announcement of what the press would come to call the crime of Moncada. On May 27, 1893, the Court of Barcelona know the verdict by the jury because the issue of crime in Moncada. Arrested were to blame for the death of husbands, had entered the house with the intention of stealing and having had the intention of killing take an ax he had borrowed from a friend last night, which were intended to cause death of the victims. The perpetrator was a description of the facts at trial which purported to show that he had no intent to cause damage or steal. He told how the victim owed him money from a commission he had promised on the sale of a horse. That by appearing at his house to claim, Mr. Llonch not give him the four dollars I owed him, insulted him and he hit him with the ax. Then he went to see the wife to claim the money and it was called imp, scratched him in the arm and used it to defend the handle of the ax he carried.
The truth is that everything seems surreal if it were not for these facts are true according to press accounts at the time. The Court condemned the author and sentenced to death by garrote and compensate the victims' children with 3,000 pesetas.
Days later, the newspaper El Dia, reflected in your copy of October 13, confirmation of the sentence by the Supreme Court that the accused had appealed.
On Friday October 27, 1893, the Gaceta de Madrid published the commutation of the death penalty to life imprisonment by Joaquin Ibanez Bellido, offender known as the Crime of Moncada. Compliance would do in the prison of Al Hoceima ... but that is another story, which I invite you reading this novel sumerjáis report today. A history we will introduce on the eve of a colonial war and the gunboat General Concha accident in 1913, one of the few ships in our fleet that escaped the disaster of 98.
If this is the real story of our character, is no less passionate romancing that just makes our author. A fantasy of which I will not give any clue in the hope that you enjoy your reading. I hope the work I was hooked from the start as it did me. The eagerness to know the events that the author unfolds us some expertise, makes the book read in one sitting. So, with straightforward language and dialogues full of humanity that can take us to get from the protagonist, which makes no sense to be dangerous. But then teaches that the remission of sin is possible.
remains, therefore, congratulate the author, soon we encourage you to see other works that will surely delight us as it has.
