PRESENCE AND IDENTITY
work revolves around the notion of presence. Presence of the body, presence of voice. Presence of a "whole." In particular we will work on two foci: the foot and hip. "Koshi" in Japanese means "hip" koshi "is the center where it creates tension and the presence of our body. We need to keep "koshi" in the right position to be able to maintain our presence on stage. But to maintain "koshi" We need to root on our feet. Through technical exercises from East and West will explore different qualities of energy and in what ways we can make them functional, easy to manipulate and available to the actor's work. All the principles discussed are based on repetition and resistance. It is from the obstinacy of the repetition from which we transgress the spaces of our mind and body and discover another type of approach to theatrical practice. The proposed work will not speak or "interpretation" or "characters" but breathing space, action, head and feet dancing available. Being present with our whole being "here and now", stay "up" balanced on our two feet.
Seminar, projection of audiovisual materials and snacks.
